Fungus Among Us
The rainforest is a rich and diverse habitat home to many wild species of fungi, some of which have been scientifically proven to be essential for human life. Fungi are essential to biodiversity in the rainforest keeping more dominant species in check allowing rarer species to thrive. They decompose organisms and absorb the nutrients, returning them to the soil. There are thousands of species of fungi. Some are very rare, like the bioluminescent ones that emit an eerie glow when disturbed. Many fungi around the world are critically endangered due to changing environments, pollution, and human encroachment. Global Warming Wear pays tribute to this unlikely hero with our Fungus Among Us textile print.
